Students Set to Open the Summer Season at Bishop’s Gardens

A group of lucky students from City College Norwich will be hosting this season’s first opening of the Bishop’s Gardens on 9th May. Guests will be able to wander through 4 acres of beautiful gardens, home to some rare and unusual plants, and enjoy a traditional summer fete organised and run by college students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities.

Construction Trades Apprentices Against the Clock in Skills Competition

Talented Apprentices in construction trades will be putting their skills to the test as City College Norwich hosts the R.E. Carter Awards for Norfolk and Waveney Building Apprentices on Thursday 22 April. Apprentices from across the region will be under pressure to complete challenges in bricklaying, plumbing, painting and decorating, carpentry and electrical installation.  At stake is not just the honour of being recognised as the best apprentices in the area, but also the chance to progress and compete in the national WorldSkills UK competitions.

Graffiti Jam to Bring Added Colour to College Open Event

Students from City College Norwich will be creating a giant graffiti mural on Friday, as part of the College’s two-day April Open event. Visitors will be able to watch and take part in a “graffiti jam” as students produce a giant piece of street art to brighten up part of the College grounds.

Motor Vehicle Students Go Green

A group of Motor Vehicle students from City College Norwich will be taking part in a national project this week to help make cars greener. Students will be measuring vehicle emissions before and after servicing of the fuel injection system, collecting data about how good vehicle maintenance can help reduce a vehicle’s carbon footprint.

Talented Web Designers Advance to WorldSkills UK Competition

The winners of a web design challenge at City College Norwich have been announced and five students from the College’s Business and Computing School will now be entered into the prestigious WorldSkills UK competition.

Students Fundraise for Conservation Expedition to Honduras

Five A Level Biology students from City College Norwich are raising funds for an exciting expedition to undertake conservation management work in Honduras.  The students have volunteered for the programme through educational charity Operation Wallacea and are working to raise £10,000 to make the 2-week long trip in July possible.

College Celebrates its International Global Mix

City College Norwich will be celebrating the cultures of its international students next week with four days of events for its International Global Mix.  The vibrant programme of activities will highlight the rich cultural diversity of City College Norwich, which has students from around 100 different nationalities represented among its student body.        

Diploma Student’s “Suffolk Samurai” Film Premiere

A student from City College Norwich is set to see her film premiered to the public this week when “Suffolk Samurai” is screened at the Forum in Norwich. The film follows the tale of heroine, Sadie, in a quest for revenge through the Suffolk countryside.

Students Hit the Road to Promote Car Safety

Students from City College Norwich are hitting the road next week when they take their drama production highlighting the importance of wearing a seatbelt out to 16 schools across the County. The production, called “Belt Up and Listen (please)”, was commissioned by Norfolk County Council and aims to educate Year 9 pupils about the consequences of not wearing a seatbelt.
