College Hockey Aces Make the Final Cut

Two talented hockey players who attend City College Norwich, Jessica Shand and Chloe Hobson, have been selected to play for British College Hockey Woman’s National team for 2010. A total of 80 players from across the U.K. attended the national trials last year but Chloe 18 from Thorpe St Andrew and Jessica 18 from Stibbard near Fakenham, made it through to the final 20 against stiff competition.

College Course Offers New Route into Police Careers

City College Norwich, in partnership with Norfolk Constabulary, is trialling a new course offering an alternative entry route for those seeking a career in the police. The Diploma in Policing and Public Safety covers the core knowledge and understanding required of police officers, cutting down the time that new recruits will have to spend as a trainee once they have joined the police force.

Severe Weather Update - City College Norwich is OPEN Today

Thursday 7 January 2010 - City College Norwich will be open today. However, if travel is dangerous then you are not advised to travel to College. Students and staff who can make it in to College safely should do so.  However, if the roads where you live are dangerous then you are advised not to attempt to travel into College. Wherever possible classes will be running as timetabled, but some services may be reduced.

Norfolk Couple Plays a Blinder

Norwich-based couple, Brian and Victoria Matthews are looking at a bright new future thanks to a scheme which helps adults improve their literacy and numeracy skills. Attending Adult Literacy courses at City College Norwich has given them the confidence they needed to start up their own company, Victoria Blinds.

Construction Students' Unique Access to Olympic Stadium Site

Students on City College Norwich’s Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction got a unique chance to visit the London 2012 Olympic Stadium last week. The students were given privileged access to visit the stadium site which will host the opening and closing ceremonies as well as all the track and field events.
