Student Achievement Marked in Awards Celebration

The achievements of students completing further education courses were celebrated last night when City College Norwich held its 5th annual Further Education Awards ceremony at St Peter Mancroft Church. The ceremony was followed by a reception celebration in the atrium of The Forum.

A flying start for students on Diploma in Society, Health and Development

Students from local schools were today given the chance to meet health professionals and learn about the many exciting career opportunities in the sector. The Diploma in Society, Health and Development, run in partnership with City College Norwich, is being championed by the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service – for whom the students will undertake fundraising activities during their course.

Club members have pledged to back the fundraising efforts of City College Norwich’s Million Makers through monetary donations and support with fundraising events.

A new government funded ‘Work Focused Training’ package has been set up to open up fresh opportunities for job seekers throughout the county and will provide access to fully funded courses through City College Norwich.

College Celebrates Record A Level Results.

Students at City College Norwich Sixth Form Centre are celebrating yet another year of success today with excellent results in both AS and A Level courses.

The College received an A level pass rate of 97% surpassing the previous years pass rate by 2%. AS Level results also showed an impressive 2% rise. Overall, 16 courses at A Level recorded a 100% pass rate in subjects as varied as Business Studies, Chemistry, Drama and Geography.

City College Norwich Remains Open After First Swine Flu Case Confirmed

City College Norwich today reported its first confirmed case of swine flu. A 16-year old student has been diagnosed as having the illness. A member of staff is also strongly suspected of having contracted swine flu.

Both are recuperating at home and neither is thought to be seriously ill. The parents of students known to have come into contact with these individuals have been contacted by the College and are being encouraged to self-monitor for possible symptoms.
