Your Voice
Why do you need representation?
Whatever the circumstances, at some point during your time at the College
you will wish that something was different or could be changed. It might be that you face a negative situation at the College that you do not feel you can handle on your own, it may be that you don’t have access to the necessary resources you need to perform at your best or maybe the course you have chosen is not what you expected. It could also be because of something incredibly positive – you have a great idea for how to improve life for yourself and others, or you have a particular talent and you want to find an outlet for it.
The Union is here to stand alongside you and help you get issues resolved and give you a chance to improve life at the College. Strong student representation gives you access to a clear route through which you can initiate change. Those who represent you can work with you to find the most effective way to turn your thoughts into action. All members then have a single unified voice, which is far stronger than everyone acting individually.
The Union is lead by its members in everything that it does. There are many key decisions that you will have a chance to influence – such as voting for who represents your course within the Union. At every stage of your life at the College, there is a representation scheme in place to make sure that you are getting the most you possibly can out of the student experience.
