The Campaigns & environment Officer
Who shall be a member of the executive committee and a member of the Trustee Board of the Union, if over the age of 18; shall:
- Co-ordinate and oversee campaigns initiated by or partnered with the Students’ Union
- In conjunction with the Vice President, Activities and Community provide support for all Executive Officers and students who wish to run campaigns
- Attend relevant conferences on behalf of the Students’ Union
- Be responsible for organising an environmental involvement group within the college and encouraging all students to participate within it, in conjunction with the Vice President, Activities and Community.
- Provide an environmental perspective on issues that affect students in the college
- Establish and maintain contact with environmental groups in other student unions across the country and locally based environmental pressure groups.
- Attend relevant conferences on behalf of the Students’ Union
- Establish a number of projects and campaigns relating to environmental interests at the beginning of the year, including Fair Trade, as agreed by the Student Union executive.
- Present relevant reports to the Executive Committee and give weekly updates to the Vice President, Activities and Community
- Carry out duties as laid down by the Executive Committee and Student Parliament
- Be a member of Student Parliament and present relevant reports
- Act reasonably and prudently in all matters, and in the best interests of the Students’ Union
