The Campaigns & environment Officer

Who shall be a member of the executive committee and a member of the Trustee Board of the Union, if over the age of 18; shall:

  1. Co-ordinate and oversee campaigns initiated by or partnered with the Students’ Union
  2. In conjunction with the Vice President, Activities and Community provide support for all Executive Officers and students who wish to run campaigns
  3. Attend relevant conferences on behalf of the Students’ Union
  4. Be responsible for organising an environmental involvement     group within the college and encouraging all students to participate within it, in conjunction with the Vice President, Activities and Community.
  5. Provide an environmental perspective on issues that affect students in the college
  6. Establish and maintain contact with environmental groups in other student unions across the country and locally based environmental pressure groups.
  7. Attend relevant conferences on behalf of the Students’ Union
  8. Establish a number of projects and campaigns relating to environmental interests at the beginning of the year, including Fair Trade, as agreed by the Student Union executive.
  9. Present relevant reports to the Executive Committee and give weekly updates to the Vice President, Activities and Community
  10. Carry out duties as laid down by the Executive Committee and Student Parliament
  11. Be a member of Student Parliament and present relevant reports
  12. Act reasonably and prudently in all matters, and in the best interests of the Students’ Union
