The Communications Officer
Who shall be a member of the executive committee and a member of the Trustee Board of the Union, if over the age of 18; shall:
- Be jointly responsible, with the President, for co-ordinating a communications strategy to promote the Students’ Union
- In conjunction with the Publicities Officer, be jointly responsible, with the President, for organising an student newspaper group and encouraging all students to contribute and participate in it
- To ensure articles are written on issues that are highlighted on the Student Union Executive Committee and Student Parliament
- In conjunction with the Publicities Officer, for organising a student website group and encouraging all students to participate in it
- Establish and maintain contact with other student media in other students’ unions across the country and locally based media organisations
- Attend relevant conferences on behalf of the Students’ Union
- Present relevant reports to the Student’ Union Executive Committee and give weekly updates to the President
- Carry out other duties as laid down by the Executive Committee and Student Parliament
- Be a member of Student Parliament and present relevant reports
- Act reasonably and prudently in all matters, and in the best interests of the union
