The Societies Officer

Who shall be a member of the executive committee and a member of the Trustee Board of the Union, if over the age of 18; shall:

 

  1. Work with all Executive Officers of the Students’ Union in establishing, maintaining and assisting in the co-ordination of extracurricular clubs and societies
  2. Take a leadership role alongside the Vice President, Activities and Community in the promotion of societies and of the Students’ Union in the wider community
  3. Liaise with the appropriate bodies outside college for promotion and sponsorship of societies
  4. In conjunction with the Vice President, Activities and Community ensure that all Students’ Union resources are allocated fairly to all clubs and societies
  5. Liaise with Events and Enrichment, and the Vice President, Activities and Community on any sporting fixtures
  6. Present relevant reports to the Executive Committee and give weekly updates to the Vice President, Activities and Community
  7. Carry out other duties as laid down by the Executive Committee and Student Parliament
  8. Be a member of the Student Parliament and present relevant reports
  9. Act reasonably and prudently in all matter, and in the best interests of theUnion
